Toy Box Private Day Nursery and Pre-School is situated in the grounds of Woodhouse Primary School on Daisy Road, Brighouse. It is registered for 54 children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years.

The Nursery opened in February 2005 and since then two OFSTED inspections have taken place, one in November 2005 and the second in November 2008. On both occasions the Nursery was judged “Outstanding” by OFSTED.

Toy Box has also participated in and has been awarded the Early Years Quality Assurance Scheme “Steps To Quality” as well as gaining a 5 star rating from Environmental Health for food and hygiene standards.

Part of the building was originally the old caretaker’s bungalow which has been completely refurbished and extended to create a modern purpose built open plan Nursery with adjoining large bright and airy conservatories. This arrangement provides a spacious and calm learning environment regardless of the weather. A separate partitioned area in the main room is set aside for the babies where they can learn to crawl, walk, climb and sleep in complete safety.

Outside there is a large enclosed playground with both grass and tarmac as well as a soft play area, providing plenty of space for the children to run around and let off steam. Again, a separate area is set aside for the babies.

All staff are fully qualified and CRB checked. They also attend regular training to ensure that their knowledge and skills are kept up to date in line with the latest developments in childcare.

The Nursery has close links with Woodhouse Primary School as well as the Early Years Consultant Teacher.

The Nursery operates a full set of Policies and Procedures, which are available in the entrance lobby for parent/carer's inspection.
